The Natural And Medical Sinusitis Treatment

Once a patient has sinusitis, it means he or she has nasal congestion. When an inflammation in the nasal passages takes place, most likely the causes are infections and allergies. Usually this will be gone within a week but if it persists for more than ten days, then you probably need to consult your physician and ask for the best sinusitis cure before it will complicate and offer you more sickness and illnesses. It is always better to prevent further damage.

Sinusitis can be acute or chronic. The first type will last at most one month but the latter will last even longer. It will not be so easy to differentiate the two since the symptoms are very similar. This is why the need for proper diagnosis and medical tests is addressed in order to confirm the type.

The first mentioned type typically emerges when someone experiences an infection in the upper respiratory tract. This could be viral or fungal infection. The latter cause may be life threatening and thus needs to be treated correctly and immediately. This can be seen in patients who have diabetes or those who suffer from chemical irritations such as fumes and smokes from cigarettes.

On the other hand, chronic type, as mentioned will last longer than the previous type. It can last up to three months or more. This type typically precipitates from several diseases with a symptom of chronic nasal congestion. The symptoms will include facial pain, headache, coughing, dizziness, and aching teeth.

Currently, there is a growing debate on the role of a fungus in chronic nasal congestion. Fungi are found in the nasal cavities of both healthy people and people with sinuses. This is the why, up to present, it is still unclear if fungus is really one factor that helps in the development of chronic sinusitis.

The one that makes it hard for physician to determine what type of nasal congestion his or her patient has is the fact that almost all symptoms are true for both types. Facial pain, headaches, and dizziness manifest in both chronic and acute types. Thus, there is a need for other medical tests to confirm the type.

There are also other infections that may manifest and this includes eye socket infection, which, if left untreated, could lead to blindness. This infection is accompanied by fever and other illnesses. Other possible infections include that of the bones in the forehead, face, and in the inner ear. They primary symptom for this is dizziness. This should be treated immediately because it might end up complicating nearby parts.

There are a lot of sinusitis treatment, both medical and natural. However, there is still this need to consult your physician with regards to what treatment would work best for you. Antibiotics and antiviral are often used to treat these but if the symptoms persist more than ten days, take in both aerobic and anaerobic antibiotics since most likely the bacteria have become resistant. You may quit taking in dairy products since they just add up to the bacteria already present in your body. It is advised that you take glass of water containing one table spoon of apple cider vinegar. Do this four times a day and after one week, you will observe changes in your nasal cavities.
